Core Role & Experience
What’s your role at the company, and how would you describe it to a non-tech person?
Backend Software Developer — I build and maintain the systems that run behind the scenes, making sure everything works fast, securely, and reliably. In non-tech terms: I’m the person making sure the “engine” under the hood keeps running smoothly.
What’s a typical day for you here?
Writing and reviewing code, fixing bugs, improving performance, and making sure new features integrate without breaking existing ones.
How did you get into this line of work?
I started with a curiosity for how things work, which led me to programming and then to specialising in backend systems.
What skills or experience do you bring that help you excel in your role?
Strong in PHP (Symfony), databases, API design, and optimising large-scale applications. Also experienced in refactoring legacy code into modern, maintainable solutions.
What’s a project you’re especially proud of working on?
Building the backend for the company’s employee portal — enabling smooth, secure, and efficient internal operations.
Approach & Passion
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Solving complex problems in a clean and efficient way.
What’s one challenge you love tackling?
Designing robust backend architectures that scale well and remain maintainable.
How do you approach problem-solving in your role?
Break problems into smaller pieces, understand the root cause, and then fix it in the most maintainable way possible.
If a client could know one thing about how you work, what would it be?
I focus on building things that last — quick fixes are fine, but I prefer long-term, reliable solutions.
Personality & Interests
What’s something about you that might surprise people?
I enjoy working with hardware too, not just software — including custom electronics and 3D printing.
Any hobbies or interests outside of work?
3D printing, tinkering with electronics, cycling, and exploring new tech tools.
If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing instead?
I’d still be working in backend development — just tackling different types of systems and challenges.
Favourite way to spend a weekend?
Relaxing with family, working on hobby projects, or enjoying the outdoors.
Light, Fun Icebreakers
First tech gadget you ever owned?
A simple handheld electronic game.
Coffee, tea, or…?
Water — I skip caffeine.
Most-used app on your phone (that isn’t email)?
YouTube Music
Favourite office snack?
Peanuts, almonds, and other nuts.

Core Role & Experience
My role involves exploring and applying AI technologies to enhance operational efficiency across all aspects of the organization.
I have also led the development of a Business Intelligence (BI) platform that empowers users to visualize, analyze, and act on data. The platform connects to diverse data sources, transforms raw data into usable formats, and enables the creation of interactive dashboards and reports. It supports a wide range of visualizations—including charts, graphs, and maps—to make complex data more accessible. By uncovering patterns, trends, and actionable insights, the platform enables data-driven decision-making and drives measurable business impact.
I worked at a telecommunications company to develop a geospatial system for managing telecommunications equipment assets. Users can view the assets on a map to facilitate spatial analysis. I also developed a system to extract spatial data for the Big Data team.
Approach & Passion
I’m the kind of person who loves mixing deep thinking with hands-on action.
I don’t just come up with ideas—I test them, tweak them, and make sure they work in the real world.
Personality & Interests
Problem solving is my thing. That’s probably why I really enjoy fixing things—especially around the house.
Light, Fun Icebreakers
From repairing an induction cooker to bringing a stubborn lamp back to life, I enjoy figuring out what’s wrong and making it right.

Core Role & Experience
What’s your role at the company, and how would you describe it to a non-tech person?
I’m the Projects & Support Manager, which means I oversee our wide range of technology projects, act as one of the first point of contact for client questions or technical issues, and design software tools that make our systems faster, smarter, and more reliable.
What’s a typical day for you here?
My day often starts with coding a new script to help automate tasks for a customer or our internal team. I might be producing a new automated report that saves hours of manual work, answering client queries, or heading out to a site visit. I also plan upcoming installations with our engineers, making sure every project is set up for success from start to finish
How did you get into this line of work?
After leaving university, I joined Omni for a work experience opportunity. What began as a short-term role quickly turned into the most rewarding 2.5 years of my career so far.
What skills or experience do you bring that help you excel in your role?
Fluent in Python, and automation tools, I excel at turning repetitive manual tasks into efficient, accurate, and easy-to-use solutions. My experience in project management, customer service, and first aid means I can handle technical challenges while keeping people’s needs front and centre.
What’s a project you’re especially proud of working on?
Developing custom automation scripts and reporting tools that have transformed how our clients and internal team manage operations saving time, reducing errors, and providing insights they didn’t have before.
Approach & Passion
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Solving problems in ways that have an immediate, tangible impact, when I know something I built today will make someone’s workday easier tomorrow, that’s the best feeling.
What’s one challenge you love tackling?
When a customer comes to me with an issue I’ve never seen before then spending the time breaking it down to see how it was caused and coming up with a solution.
How do you approach problem-solving in your role?
I break problems into smaller, clear steps, test each part, and keep communication open with the client or team throughout. I also like to think creatively, sometimes the best solution isn’t the most obvious one.
If a client could know one thing about how you work, what would it be?
I treat every project as if it were my own business. I care about the result as much as you do, and I’ll work until it’s right.
Personality & Interests
What’s something about you that might surprise people?
Before working in tech, I was a certified Coffee Master at Starbucks — yes, I can make you a latte while discussing Python scripts.
Any hobbies or interests outside of work?
Travelling, sightseeing, and exploring new coffee shops around the world. I also enjoy tinkering with new tech tools in my free time.
If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing instead?
I’d probably be back behind the espresso machine, running my own coffee shop
Favourite way to spend a weekend?
A city break somewhere new: walking tours, local food, historical sites
